This week in beginning photography we had to take outdoor flash portrait photography.  When I first heard of this assignment I didn't know why we were going to use flash on a bright sunny day. Mr. Gallegos later explained that the flash created a catch light.  The catch light is created by light reflecting from a shiny surface then into the eyes.This technique helps the subject look more alive and it gives the eyes depth. Overall I completed this assignment using the right settings and achieved

some good portraits.
